Atlanta’s #1 Choice For Sculptra
Sculptra Fillers
Sculptra® is a facial filler (also known as a dermal filler) made up of poly-L-lactic acid that helps facilitate the replacement of lost collagen by adding facial volume to gaunt or hollowed-out areas. Dr. Sinha uses Sculptra to provide a gradual increase in thickness and facial volume for a more youthful look.
Sculptra is unique because it stimulates the skin and works with the body to make more of its natural support structure by acting as "fertilizer" for the collagen. Sculptra is bio-compatible, meaning it's recognized as natural by the body, and biodegradable (can be broken down by the body).
Sculptra can be used on the cheeks, midface, temples and around the eyes for age-defying results.
About Sculptra Fillers
The
number of injections and amount of Sculptra needed vary among individuals and will be evaluated and
discussed during the consultation. Unlike other dermal fillers, Sculptra does
not bear immediate visible effects. Instead, Sculptra stimulates collagen
production over a series of facial injections.
The
effects of Sculptra are subtle, and injections are typically completed in 3
sessions about 4-6 weeks apart. After each treatment, the skin produces more of
its own natural collagen. Results typically last about 2 years.
Mild
swelling may occur at the injection site, but typically subsides within two days. As with all
procedures, our staff is available for questions throughout the treatment
process. The Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery offers a
comprehensive consultation in order to provide education and tailored
recommendations.

The most common side effects after initial treatment include injection site swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching and lumps. Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been reported.
Sculptra should not be used by people that are allergic to any ingredient of the product or who have a history of irregular scarring. Sculptra shouldn't be used at the site of skin sores, acne, cysts, rashes, or other skin inflammation.
Recovery and Results
Q Recovery and Results
Most people return to their normal activities immediately after Sculptra injections. Swelling, bruising, and other side effects are usually mild and subside within a few days. Doing the following will help speed along your recovery:
- Apply a cold pack to the affected area for a few minutes at a time within the first 24 hours.
- Following treatment, massage the area for five minutes at a time, five times a day, for five days.
- Avoid excessive sunlight or tanning beds until any redness and swelling has resolved.
Results are gradual, and it may take a few weeks to see the full effects of Sculptra. Results last up to two years.
What can I expect to pay for Sculptra treatments?
Q What can I expect to pay for Sculptra treatments?
The total cost of your Sculptra treatments will depend on several factors, including:
- number of treatment visits required
- geographic location
- number of vials of Sculptra used
Generally, the average cost of Sculptra per vial is approximately $900. It should be noted that Sculptra isn't covered by health insurance. This is due to the fact that insurance companies don't regard cosmetic procedures as medically necessary. The only exceptions are when Sculptra is used to treat skin changes from HIV or lipoatrophy.
However, you should always choose your surgeon based on quality, training, and experience - not cost.
