Traditional cosmetic procedures for restoring skin's vitality include such surgeries as facelifts, brow lifts, facial implants and chin liposuction. But patients who want to achieve great results with less expense and downtime will be excited to learn about the modern advancements that have given us several non-surgical options.
At the Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery, we can sculpt, contour and lift areas of the face to make you look younger and more revitalized - without ever making a single incision in your skin.
Is a Liquid Facelift Right for You?
A "liquid facelift" is a term that refers to any procedure that uses injectable dermal fillers around the areas of the face that need treatment to minimize wrinkles, folds and fine lines, as well as to reshape areas that have begun losing their youthful contours.
Depending on your individual goals and the results you want to achieve from the liquid facelift technique, we will use our gentle, expert touch to apply one or more injectable treatments to restructure the look of your face without creating wounds or scars.
At the Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery, we are proud to use only the highest-quality, FDA-approved skin care products. Here are some of the non-invasive dermal injectables we use, as well as the effects we can achieve with them.
- Juvéderm®
- Radiesse®
- Restylane®
- Sculptra®
- Botox® and Dysport®
is a gel-based dermal filler that smoothes out lines and wrinkles, while restoring skin's youthful volume. The product has a similar consistency to facial tissue, which is why it's a great way to help recreate facial contours. It is also an excellent lip plumper.
helps boost the skin's natural collagen production to reshape any facial areas that have begun to wrinkle and sag. This injectable is a safe and effective treatment for minimizing the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, as well as for correcting volume loss in the backs of the hands. Radiesse treatment provides immediately visible and long-lasting results.
is a gel-based hyaluronic acid filler that provides long-lasting results. Patients who need to correct deep facial crevices, wrinkles or mild to moderate facial scarring, or who want to plump up lips or add volume under the eyes, may see their desired results from Restylane.
is a bio-compatible collagen stimulator. Rather than being a gel that dissolves over time, Sculptra works with your body to force it to produce new collagen. This long-lasting rejuvenation helps prevent wrinkles, drooping and loss of volume. Sculptra differs from other injectable products in that it works more subtly to gradually improve skin's appearance over a series of facial injections, with results that last as long as two years for some patients.
injections reduce wrinkles and fine lines in common areas such as the forehead and between the eyebrows. These treatments work by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles in the targeted areas and preventing them from contracting. When used in combination with dermal fillers and other injectables, Botox and Dysport can create even longer-lasting results.
Results of a Liquid Facelift
In general, our goal with a liquid facelift is to create natural-looking results without a stiff or "over-injected" appearance. Busy women and men who want to achieve a younger, more refreshed and alert appearance without any downtime should consider a liquid facelift.
Patients seeking the following results are good candidates for a liquid facelift:
- Reduced wrinkles, creases, folds and fine lines
- Gentle lift of sagging facial features such as jowls, eyelids and the corners of the mouth
- Smoother, fuller, better-defined lips
- Added volume to sunken cheeks and temples
- Restoration of natural facial contours
While a surgical facelift provides permanent results, a liquid facelift does not. However, the results are still long-lasting. Depending on the combination of products used and the facial area being treated, a liquid facelift will typically last from one to two years.
At the Atlanta Institute for Facial Aesthetic Surgery, we perform liquid facelifts onsite in our clinic. The first step of a liquid facelift procedure is typically to apply a topical or local anesthetic to the skin to ensure your comfort throughout the process. Next, Dr. Sinha will use an ultra-fine needle to inject each area of your face needing treatment with the appropriate filler, volumizer or relaxer.
The entire liquid facelift process usually takes about an hour from start to finish. You may experience mild bruising, redness, numbness or soreness around the injection areas, but these effects usually resolve within a few days.
Within three weeks, you will need to return to our clinic for a follow-up appointment to receive touch-up treatments. Some patients may need to schedule additional treatment sessions to obtain maximum results.
